Biography
Rigo Torres (san diego,CA 1994)Studies at SD School of Creative and Performing Arts.Had work in Museum of photographic Arts2010-2011 and won a certificate for my picture ,spring show of 2010-2011.Some work is also displayed in school office.
Artist statement
My work consist of pictures of cars and capturing the uniqueness in wich people customize their automobiles.My work can be related to the same style of those in the magazine that promote car brands.t is an attempt at creating a personal vision,of different personalized cars but with the same style ,these cars all Hondas and these cars have unique style called JDM wich stands for japanese domestic market.
My objective, I didnt just want to take pictures of cars i intent to show how every car is differnet in uniqueness.For example they all have diferent designs in their motors according to their personality.Theirs Customes paint jobs,rims , and other parts like these that stand out.
My art is influenced by james moy and his way of emphizing the brand in the perfect way.This potogrpher inspired me to shoot pictures of the cars. Cars are my pasion i like everything that has to do with a motor and a body work of the car.To get inspired to shoot pictures of them was the best that could happen i really enojoyed taking these pictures of what i love.
Theres mostly a pattern in all of them darkening the edges to focus on the car and make it stand out.The same with the engines they are darked to focus on the image that is painted on them.
